Hey - thanks so much for getting back to me 
Ok, so I noticed the staf.cfg file was actually named staf.cfg.txt (I know the doc says to watch out for this, but I missed it when I re-installed the staff components)
So, I fixed that, and now i am getting a different behavior when I run VMMark2-stax.bat
- The splash screen for VMMark comes through
- Then nothing - no Stax errors, but also no stax interface from which to submit the job.
I am attaching my CFG file - let me know if you see any syntactical issues.
