I was hoping this was answered. I need to 'reorder' my vmk ports as well. I even tried to delete the iSCSI nic to recreate the Storage Heartbeat 1st so it's guaranteed the lowest number as well as just click 'remove' to delete the vSwitch. Both actions give me an error and never removes the vmkernel port.

I think I'll just open a ticket. I was thinking about using the steps this guy used to fix a similar issue.
