Personally speaking I would use the entire SSD as a single partition and have a spindle bas drive where you can run your pagefile and VM from, it would be different if you were running multple VM's and wanted them spun up nice and quick but as this is a stop gap until you get everything migrated across then I can't see why you would want to split the SSD.
My MSI laptop has 2 mSATA SSD's that house the OS and a spindle running my VM's and pagefile and tbh I don't suffer at all with performance, I have even been known to run VM's (plural) from a USB 3 device instead.
