I've done a few things and the issue has gone away for me. I'm not sure the same things will be applicable to you. I upgraded VCenter to 5.1.0, 1064983 which contained a new client. I've upgraded my hosts to 5.1U1 (1117900). My hosts have two separate vmkernel ports for management, one for prod and one for backup and the vcenter server is dual homed on both networks. Although the client system is also dual homed on both networks, I changed the managed IP address in VCenter to the other network. I'm not sure which change fixed the issue since I just changed to a management server that had a client that wasn't experiencing the issue.
