Thank you Laurent, I solved this problem by grabbing the extensionId of the current view before navigating to my view and sending it as part of context and use this extensionId to navigate back, so my modified steps are
1. User is on Hosts list view
2. Right click on a Host and select plugin menu XGlobal view
2a. Grab the current url from browser and parse extensionId of the current view and add it to the context for XGlobal view
3. User is taken to Plugin's global view
4. User sees more details/actions about the Host in context
5. User click "Go back" button in the view
6. User is taken back to Hosts list view (this can be any view that the user came from, since Global view can be reached from for example host and vm list) using the extensionId from the context.
