Re: Removing Datastore LUNs

You can define the datastore which are considered/used by HA for datastore heartbeating. Make sure that the datastores which you want to unmount/detach are not in the list. The folder may remain on the datastore after reconfiguring HA datatore heartbeating, but it won't be in use anymore.

Re: UEM Logon Tasks - Blocked by a Lock Screen?

Yeah, the workflow our design team has gone with is not the preferred Imprivata way. We expected some hiccups because of this, and, well, it looks like this is one. Our VDI are delivered through View, and we have a mix of apps delivered via XenApp or App Volumes. It's kind of a melting pot right now.

If I can't get the team to agree on a lock delay, I may be stuck with my logon tasks. We'll see how far I get. Those other products you mentioned, I might be able to look at them at some point, but, we have a go live in about 2 weeks, so, I won't be able to look into anything new for the time being.

VCDX5 versus VCDX6 : what if VCDX5 design is not accepted for defense ?

$

Has there been decision already placed until when VCDX5 designs could be submitted ? Is there something like VCDX6-only-from-this-moment-on date set up ?

Associated question, if I may : we are group of people targeting March 2017 submission, each of us individually with different project. What happens if our submissions fail to be invited for defense in May - would we have to re-submit VCDX6 design in June or can we brush up the same design and re-submit in June ?

Thanks for reply !

Thanks for the info. This was helpful in getting me past that error message when installing the Synology VAAI vib so I can finally do thick provisioning.

Based on how deep the tree is, you may be better off either cloning out to another datastore or deleting your VM and restoring from VEEAM assuming your backups are good. Either way should give you a consolidated disk tree. VEEAM tends to leave a message hierarchy from time to time that requires attention close to when it's happening so it doesn't get out of control.

Agnostic Hypervisor

Hi there, i'm reading these days lot of docs about Hyperconverged Infrastructure.

One key point is the Agnostic Hypervisor feature of VSAN.

I've read that VSAN from version 6.2 can map itself via NFS or iSCSI, but obviously, mapping the datastore via network with this protocols, will transform my infrastructure in a NON-Hyperconverged infrastructure,

because data will no more be access locally, but through the netowkr. In the same time i'll make mi infrastrucutre more and more complex introducing differente managment interface (one for VSAN and one for the other Hypervisor).

I've read that real agnostic Hypervisor are produt like Nutanix and HPE hyperconverged infrastrcutre.

Some one ha some other info info about that for Vmware VSAN?

Best regards.

Please attach "Windows XP Home Edition.vmdk" as well as "Windows XP Home Edition_000.vmdk" to a reply post. Maybe there's something wrong with the metadata.

If you have the option to change the power management through vCenter / host settings, then this means that the BIOS on that host has been configured to allow the guest operating system (ESXi) to manage the power sertings of the physical machine. This is the recommended configuration from VMware.

You can change the policy from within vCenter and there is nothing further you need to do in the BIOS, as the BIOS has already been configured to allow ESXi to manage this configuration.

Cheers, Matt.

HI

thanks for all the help, I've attached the files as you asked.

I notice that the files  are quite small  and futher down the listing is a vmdk file which is 3,823,234kb

I assume the virtual drive is split into sections designated with the extensions -s001?

If it has all gone south is there anyway to open the vmdk file and extract the two folders I need?

cheers

Quick question. What is the version of Office in the master image?

Re: App Volumes and Compatible application list

As far as i know, there is no list available for public at the moment and I'm not aware of any third party tools for assessing the applications for AppStacks.

In general, do not package applications that have kernel mode drivers or antivirus or VPN and applications that run after user logs out.

As always, you may post on this community if there are any issues with any applications.

Hi Lakshman,

Thank you for the response. The Office version is 2010 Sp2 PP and Visio is also 2010.
